Help for the As I See It apps on iOS and Android, our Snapchat lenses and TikTok effects. Most questions are answered below; anything else, email us and a real person replies.

Getting started
Open the app, choose a condition, and point the camera at the world around you. Drag the severity slider to move from an early stage to an advanced one. Comparison mode shows normal and affected vision side by side, and Learn More explains each condition's causes, symptoms, treatments and daily-life impact.
On Snapchat and TikTok, search for the condition name or scan a Snapcode to open a lens or effect. The slider at the bottom of the screen works the same way.
Camera permission
The app needs the camera to show the simulation. Everything is processed on your device and never uploaded. If the view is black, check that camera access is allowed: on iPhone, Settings, then As I See It, then Camera; on Android, Settings, then Apps, then As I See It, then Permissions.
Accessibility
The apps support screen readers, large text, high contrast and a static mode for anyone sensitive to motion. Every filter has a spoken description of what it changes. If something does not work with your assistive technology, tell us which device and reader you use and we will fix it.
Reporting a problem
If the app crashes or a simulation looks wrong, email us with the condition, the severity you had set and, if you can, a screenshot. Crash reports reach us automatically and anonymously, but a message from you tells us what you were doing when it happened.
Clinicians and educators: if a simulation does not match how a condition presents in practice, we want to know. Each filter is reviewed against the clinical literature and revised when we learn something new.
Medical questions
As I See It is for education and empathy. It does not diagnose, treat or replace an eye examination. If you are worried about your own vision, please see an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
Your data
What the apps collect and why is in the privacy policy. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to delete, but you can email us with any privacy question.
